OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

What We Are Doing for Your Safety

  • We are taking the temperature of every person who works for our office when they come to the office.  All staff and attorneys with an elevated temperature will be required to go home.
  • We will continue to have staff work from home to the extent possible to minimize contact in the office.
  • We all wear masks when we are not in our individual offices.
  • We sanitize the conference room after every meeting.
  • We sanitize all areas of the office throughout the day including door handles, conference rooms, arms on chairs, and other public spots, such as our break room.
  • We are running air purifiers in the conference room and reception area between meetings.  We are leaving sufficient time between meetings for the air purifiers to cycle the air.
  • We have asked our staff to stay home if they feel sick, and to report it immediately to us.
  • We only hold brief signing meetings in person at the office.  To lessen person to person contact, all other meetings continue to be held via telephone or video conference.
  • We will only have meetings in the office with one client or family at a time.  We will not have attorneys running multiple meetings in the office.
  • We have installed glass barriers in our reception area and the conference room.

Protocols for In-Office Signing Meetings

  • We ask that clients not come to the office if they do not feel well. Please call us to reschedule your meeting.
  • We request that clients arrive at their appointment time, so we can immediately seat you in our conference room. If you arrive early, please wait to enter the office until it is time for your appointment.
  • We ask clients to wear masks during our meetings. If you do not have one, we can provide one for you.
  • Attorneys will wear masks and gloves during all meetings. Clients will be offered gloves.
  • We will ask clients to wash their hands prior to our meeting, and to use hand sanitizer when we are in the conference room.
  • Attorneys will wash their hands prior to all meetings and use hand sanitizer when we are in the conference room.
  • Clients should feel free to bring their own blue ink pen. Otherwise, we will have a new pen for you to use. You may either take the pens home with you, or it will be discarded after use.
  • Meetings will be as brief as possible.
  • Clients will leave with a red planning binder that contains all of your planning documents, including summarization pages that provide an overview of each document.
  • We will schedule a follow up meeting within a few days of your signing meeting to review the documents in detail. You may make changes for free within the first year of signing your documents.

Protocol for Curbside Signing Meetings

  • We ask clients to park in the disabled parking spot in the parking lot attached to our building.
  • We will come to the client’s car window with the signature pages of your plan documents. The signature pages will be on a clipboard. We sanitize the clipboards after every meeting. We ask that you wear a mask. If you do not have one, we can provide one for you.
  • Attorneys will wear masks and gloves during all meetings. We will provide hand sanitizer for clients to use it prior to signing the documents.
  • Clients should feel free to bring their own blue ink pen. Otherwise, we will have a new pen for you to use. You may either take the pens home with you, or they will be discarded after use.
  • Meetings will be as brief as possible.
  • We will watch you sign your documents, then we will take the documents from you in order to notarize or witness each document as necessary.
  • When all the signature pages are signed, we will assemble your red planning binder, including summarization pages that provide an overview of each document. We will then bring the binder out to your car.
  • We will schedule a follow up meeting within a few days of your signing meeting to review the documents in detail. You may make changes for free within the first year of signing your documents.
